Poland will have a new type of troops. The Ministry of National Defense is already looking for candidates

– In September, medical army will start operating – announced Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak – Kamysz during the presentation of vocations to the scientific councils of military medical institutes.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the creation of a new kind of troops is to allow the use of conclusions from the battlefield in Ukraine, fundamentally different from the experience of Polish soldiers from Iraq or Afghanistan.

Medical army will connect three different institutions

– We will now emerge the command of the medical army. It will be a great responsibility resting on those who undertake the task of building it from scratch – explained Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak – Kamysz. He added that military and civilian medicine must be ready for crisis situations.

Currently, the military health service in Poland is subject to three different institutions. The Department of Military Health Service at the Ministry of National Defense is responsible for medical institutes, soldiers-medical soldiers in individual units are subject to the management of the Military Health Service in the General Command, and the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate is responsible for logistics and purchases of medical equipment.

Medical Legion like Cyberlegion

Who is to enter the ranks of a new kind of troops? – We want to invite paramedics, nurses, nurses, doctors, specialists in various medical fields to create a medical legion – announced the head of the Ministry of National Defense. A model of the new formation may be a cyberlegion, under which civilian experts in cyber security are prepared to cooperate with the army and to support the defense of cyberspace in a crisis situation, without joining the army.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense also announced that reports on the health of Polish soldiers, based on o data from 2024.
