PlusLiga final without Polish champions! Wilfredo Leon and Bogdanka Luk will play for gold

I must admit that the advantage of your own pitch – this is a rule that in the case of JSW JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel and Bogdanka Luk Lublin, ceased to apply. The Polish champions and the Challenge Cup winners prepared three large semi -final spectacles, of which the third, had the greatest dose of emotions.

Polish champions coach Marcelo Mendez had a lot of headache about the left wing, and more precisely the wing, who could support both Łukasz Kaczmarek and the real leader of the team, Tomasz Fornal. The Argentinean, however, did not convince his performance, which could not be said about the quality of this player’s game when he successfully presented himself in match number 2 in Lublin.

At 5: 6 in the third set, Carle returned to the pitch and was close, and would become the hero of the end of this installment. At first the Frenchman could not break, but when he caught a fairly good rhythm, in the end he showed off a series of difficult plays, allowing the hosts from 21:24 to 24:24. However, it should be remembered that on the other side there was also someone to frighten. Wilfredo Leon is one thing, but the decisive ball at 2: 1 in sets and putting the masters against the wall, finished Kewin Sasak. Attacking Bogdanka Luk played, as befits a Polish representative.

It should also be noted that in the composition of JSW Jastrzębski, as expected, there was no injured Libero Jakub Popiwczak. With all due respect to one of the best in the world in his profession, his young deputy Jakub Jurczyk played another very good match. What was decisive during the Saturday match? The hosts certainly started very nervously. Nine of their own mistakes with a result of 22:25, was pregnant. Ultimately, however, JSW used the last available set, thanks to the effective attack from Pipe Fornal. The host and Polish national team hosted his 25th point in the match with this play.

The fifth party began with 2-0 for guests, Leon added another ace on Jurczyk. Fornal responded from the service field (3: 3). However, Lubliners gained a few -point advantage at the key moment of the fifth party. Leon took on a lot, skillfully difficult situations were solved by the captain and playmaker Marcin Komenda. Polish champions had to make up for 9:12. And the hawks did not raise from this.

Bogdanka Luk thus advanced to the PlusLiga finals for the first time in her history. The Lublin team will play with the winner of the PGE project Warsaw – Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. This meeting began shortly after the clash in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
