PlusLiga clubs will fight on the beach. Fans can already get ready

PlusLiga and Tauron Liga fans have become accustomed to beach games before the start of the season. This year will be no different. You can already book your date.
Polish volleyball fans, for now, are mainly following what is happening in the teams of Nikola Grbić and Stefano Lavarini. In less than two weeks, the Olympic Games will begin, where we will see both teams for the first time in 16 years. At the same time, Tauron Liga and PlusLiga clubs are quietly returning to training, slowly starting preparations for the season.
Beach volleyball competitions are back
Obviously, the top teams will have major staff shortages. The best players play in national teams and will get a leave of absence after the games. Some clubs like Trefl Gdańsk have already started training. The Gdańsk team will take part in the tournament at the beginning of August. However, it will not be an indoor competition.
PLS has accustomed fans to the fact that before the start of the season, clubs took part in games on the beach. The tradition will continue, although in a changed format. On August 2-4, the PGE Letnia Liga will be held on the beach in Ustka, with the participation of eight teams. Four of them (KGHM #VolleyWrocław, Ita Tools Stal Mielec, Moya Radomka Radom and Grot Budowlani Łódź) are representatives of the Tauron League. The remaining four (Projekt Warszawa, PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów, Trefl Gdańsk and Barkom Każany Lwów) are clubs of the PlusLiga.
– I am very happy that we are continuing our summer games, which will certainly gain an appropriate setting and will be an excellent offer for people vacationing on the Baltic Sea. It will be a very sporty time, because at the same time the Olympic Games will be held, where our women’s and men’s teams will fight for medals – said the president of the Polish Volleyball League Artur Popko.
Project Warsaw and Volley Wrocław won last year on the sand
Both tournaments (women’s and men’s) will be held as a round robin competition. Teams will play one match per day. Last year, Volley Wrocław won the women’s competition, and Projekt Warszawa won the men’s competition.
