For three years, seniors aged 65 and over have been able to benefit from the free medicines program, but not all medicines prescribed to seniors by doctors are free of charge. Only medicines on the reimbursement list are free. If a doctor prescribes a full-price drug, seniors must pay 100 percent. prices.

Some communes introduced the LEK Program over 20 years ago, which is still implemented by municipal or municipal Social Welfare Centers.

In Choroszcz, people entitled to co-finance the purchase of medicines must meet several criteria:

• monthly expenses on medicines prescribed by a doctor to eligible persons in the month preceding the submission of the application amounted in total to at least PLN 50 for each eligible person,

• the income of a single person does not exceed 400%. income criterion, i.e. PLN 4,040,

• per capita income in the family does not exceed 400%. income criterion per person in the family – PLN 3,292

• a single person or family regularly pays a fee for waste disposal.

You can receive funding once every two months, in a specific amount: PLN 246.90 for one eligible person in the family, PLN 370.35 for two eligible people and PLN 493.80 for three or more eligible people in the family.

Medicines for those in need in Rawa Mazowiecka

Co-financing for the purchase of medicines in Rawa Mazowieka can be used once a month in 2026, provided that the following conditions are met: family income cannot exceed 150%. income criterion, and the prescription for the drug was issued by a doctor of a health care facility.

Specifically, this means funding of PLN 400, i.e. 100%. the purchase price of the drug can be obtained with an income of PLN 1,010 (single person) and PLN 823 (family member). PLN 350 is available with an income of PLN 1,212 for a single person and PLN 987.60 for a person in a family. A subsidy of PLN 300 will be given to a single person with an income of PLN 1,414 and other people with an income of PLN 1,152.20 per person in the family.

An allowance of PLN 200 is due to a single person with an income of PLN 1,515 and to those in need with an income of PLN 1,234.50 per person in the family.

LEK program in Wasilków

Wasilków also has similar programs. As in other places, the criteria to be met in Wasilków in 2026 relate to income. The income of a single person cannot exceed PLN 2,525, and the income per person in a family cannot exceed PLN 1,646.

• 1 eligible person in the family or single person – up to PLN 246.90,
• 2 eligible persons in the family – up to PLN 370.35,
• 3 eligible persons in the family – up to PLN 493.80.

The details of the program should always result from the resolution of the city or commune council adopted on this matter. In all the places described, people meeting the criteria should go to city or commune Social Welfare Centers for funding.
