PKP’s holiday hit has encountered a problem. Passengers can get a refund for their tickets

Adriatic Express is a holiday hit in the PKP Intercity offer. The train from Poland to Croatian Rijeka passes through the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia. This year’s novelty is the disconnection of a group of wagons in Ljubljana, Slovenia, so you can also reach the port city of Koper.

Work carried out at the Ljubljana station on Friday and Saturday will cause disruptions. For passengers, this means a morning transfer from train to bus.

Problem with Adriatic Express. Substitute communication

“For train No. 1277 Adriatic Express on the Warszawa Wschodnia – Rijeka/Koper route, replacement bus transport will be launched on July 3/4, 2026 on the Ljubljana Zalog – Rijeka/Koper section and on the Ljubljana Zalog – Ljubljana section,” we read in the announcement.

The train is scheduled to arrive at Ljubljana Zalog station around 5:30. Then you need to change to replacement buses:

• Rijeka – arrival: 8:40

Replacement buses do not stop at stations other than those mentioned. On the Ljubljana-Warszawa Wschodnia section, the train runs unchanged. It will set off from Slovenia at 22:50.

Refund possible

The carrier apologized for the inconvenience and offered a 100% refund. ticket fees if you do not accept the new travel conditions. In this case, the refund also applies to tickets purchased in the Super Promo International offer, by way of complaint, using the form available on the PKP Intercity website.

The railway route between Warsaw and Rijeka is one of the longest routes in Europe covered by a direct scheduled connection and is 1,240 km long.
