PKP’s competitor has a new plan. I want to travel on 4 routes from Poland
Poles may gain more railway connections if the new plans of the Czech carrier come to fruition. He surprises again with his decision.
First, it was preparing for the great expansion of the Polish market, then, in May 2026, it completed the implementation of national courses in Poland. Although it can still be seen on our tracks, it only operates on selected international routes. The Czech carrier RegioJet is proud of its new plans. After complaining about difficult cooperation with Poles, he wants to have more of his trains in our country.
RegioJet is preparing new routes from Poland
According to kolowyportal.pl, RegioJet plans to launch 4 new routes from Poland. Many months ago he boasted, among other things, lower prices and interesting offers. We are talking about yellow trains, which are direct competition for PKP.
In the near future, we would gain international connections from Warsaw to Sankt Anton am Arlberg (Ski Resort in Austria) and Prague, from Katowice to Rijeka and from Przemyśl to Vienna. An application in this regard has already been submitted to the Office of Rail Transport.
A hit can be, among others: Croatia which is on the list. The same connection offered by PKP is very popular, so there is a risk that Poles will want to check an alternative, among others. in terms of travel time and comfort.
What is already known about the Czech carrier’s plan?
RegioJet’s announcement shows that transport services would be performed every day in the annual timetables 2027/2028, 2028/2029, 2029/2030, 2030/2031 and 2031/2032. This means they would launch on December 12, 2027. For example, a train to St. Anton am Arlberg is scheduled to run every day at 19:35 to reach the destination after approximately 16.5 hours.
Trains on the other announced routes would also run once a day. Each of them includes stops in many other Polish and foreign cities, including: in Silesia and the Czech Republic.
It is also known that Alstom TRAXX 3 F160 MS and Siemens Vectron X4 locomotives may be on the road. The trains would consist of 12 wagons of the Amz, ABmz and Bmz types.
It is not certain whether all RegoJet’s plans will come to fruition. Attempts to launch domestic connections in our country ended in failure, which is why many people are skeptical about the new announcements. Currently, the Czech carrier must pass, among others: procedure for granting open access.
