PKP Intercity launches a holiday hit. These trains have a unique atmosphere

PKP Intercity is introducing a new summer timetable. Special “Nieśpieszny” trains run on unique routes.

PKP Intercity has prepared a surprise for passengers. As part of the IC Nieśśny holiday offer, the carrier will launch special weekend trains running on less frequently used routes.

Some of the trains will be driven by the historic SM42-342 locomotive in restored colors, and the routes have been planned to show both the industrial face of Silesia, seaside resorts and mountain landscapes in the south of the country.

Summer novelty of PKP Intercity. “Slow” hits the tracks

The first courses will start on July 17. ICN INDUSTRIAL will connect Warsaw East with Kraków Główny, passing through less obvious stations in the region, including: Zduńska Wola, Karsznice, Tarnowskie Góry, Bytom and Mysłowice, as well as the area around Zator and Skawina.

A day later it will hit the tracks ICN HAJERi.e. a train connecting Kraków with Zwardoń. The train will stop, among others, in Wadowice and Bielsko-Biała, and on the way back it will pass through Rybnik, Tychy and Mysłowice, showing the more “working” and local character of Silesia.

The weekend will end ICN METROPOLITrunning from Krakow to Warsaw via Tarnowskie Góry, Pyrzowice Airport, Sosnowiec Maczki and Kutno.

New PKP Intercity offer for summer 2026. Trains will run on unique routes

The next version of the holiday offer will take passengers to the seaside. ICN LIGHTHOUSE On July 31, it will travel on the Warsaw East – Kołobrzeg route, passing through the Tricity, Malbork, Słupsk and Koszalin. Additional attractions are planned in Ustronie Morskie, including the possibility of using CS Natura Tour accommodation.

The seaside cycle will be completed ICN PORT CARRIERrunning between Kołobrzeg and Szczecin. The train covers towns such as Koszalin, Ustka, Szczecinek and Stargard, and in the evening it will return along a changed route towards the coast. The train will be driven by an SM42 locomotive in historic colors.

At the end of the weekend ICN PORTA VARSOVIA will provide a return from Kołobrzeg to Warsaw via Poznań, Łódź and Skierniewice.

In August, the offer will move to the southeast of the country. ICN ROZTOCZE will connect Warsaw with Przemyśl, passing through Lublin, Stalowa Wola and Jarosław.

ICN ŁYSOGÓRZANIN will offer one of the most extensive routes of the season: from Przemyśl through Kraków, Tarnobrzeg and Sandomierz to Krynica-Zdrój.

On the other hand ICN FARMER will return from the mountains to the capital, taking an unusual route through Muszyna, Nowy Sącz and Kielce, and the final section to Warsaw will lead from Piaseczno.

Lower Silesia. New offer of PKP Intercity

The season will close with courses that will surely please all lovers of Lower Silesia. Thanks ICN VRATISLAWA it will be possible to travel from Warsaw to Wrocław, passing, among others, Kępno and Wieluń.

ICN MIEDZIANKA will take passengers through the Sudetes and the region’s historic railway routes, a ICN BUS will end the summer cycle on August 30, connecting Wrocław with Warsaw via Częstochowa, Kluczbork and Kutno.


FAQ – PKP Slow Train

When will the Nieśpieszny train start?

The train with a historic train (renovated 1st and 2nd class carriages) will start on April 17 on the Warszawa Główna-Zakopane route (ICN Góral).


What routes will Nieśpieszny go on?

PKP plans 40 connections to all voivodeships in Poland by autumn. The trains will run under the names “Sawa”, “Góral”, “Krzyżak”, “Krasnal”, “Oscypek”. The leaders will be real legends of Polish tracks, including the unique EP05-23 “Czesio” electric locomotive and the iconic “Siódemki”.


Where and when to buy tickets?

A separate commercial category, ICN (InterCity Slow) was created for the train. Tickets can be purchased at www.intercity.pl/niespieszny, which takes you to the ebilet.intercity.pl system. Sales start no earlier than 30 days before the travel date.


Is it possible to travel in the Slow with a dog?

You can take a dog, bicycle and luggage on board – in accordance with the Regulations and Price List of PKP Intercity services. Seat reservations are required and must be selected from the online seating chart.
