PKP gave passengers a nightmare. Heat and congestion were just the beginning

It was supposed to be a peaceful journey from Lublin to Wrocław. Instead, passengers of the Intercity train experienced real hell.

The PKP Intercity “Bolko” train travels from Lublin via Kielce and Katowice to Wrocław. The route from the Lublin region to the capital of Upper Silesia, serviced by non-compartment Darts, should take about four hours, while the journey to the final station should take six hours. Travelling by train takes less time than driving. As it turns out, however, it can sometimes turn out to be a real nightmare. Passengers who decided to take the “Bolko” train on Sunday, July 14, found out for themselves.

PKP Intercity’s Hellish Journey

The train was supposed to leave Lublin at 11:29. However, that did not happen. “On arrival, it turned out that the train was not there yet. The information board said that it would arrive in 20 minutes, then 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80. No one could tell me what was going on. The friendly information lady just threw up her hands helplessly,” said one of the passengers.

But that was not the end of the chaos. An hour after the planned travel date, an express train from Gliwice arrived on the platform, which was to continue its route as “Bolko”. Passengers with tickets, tired of waiting in over 30-degree heat, began to take their seats. – Literally after a few minutes we were thrown off the trainin an unceremonious and rude manner. The broad-shouldered conductor stated that no one had ever invited anyone onto the train and pointed to the crowded platform – commented an outraged passenger.

Mrs. Małgorzata added that it was obvious to tourists that if a delayed train arrives at the platform, they simply get on it and do not wait forever. Finally, just before 1 p.m., the train set off.

They chose the Intercity journey. It turned out to be a nightmare

The journey was hardly comfortable. – The train was crowded, all the seats were taken, the squealing of overtired children. From the loudspeakers we heard optimistic assurances that the train on the route would regularly reduce delays. However, nothing of the sort happened – commented one of the travelers.

According to the woman, although the train delay was supposed to be decreasing, it actually increased. “The train started to stop aimlessly, go back and then go forward again. I understand that something can happen on the route. This is normal. However, what is not normal is that no one on the train was able to explain the reasons for the delay to the passengers,” she explained.

Ultimately, the express train was delayed by almost 200 minutes.

PKP Intercity has not yet responded to the passengers’ allegations. – We will provide an answer after listening to the train crew’s explanations – said Agnieszka Serweńska from the PKP Intercity press office.
