On February 7, there is a technical break at PKO BP

February 7, Saturday, at 00:00-05:00 we planned technical work. During this time, there may be temporary difficulties in access to the IKO, iPKO biznes and PKO Junior applications as well as the iPKO, iPKO biznes and Inteligo websites. – we read in the bank’s announcement.

The largest Polish bank assures that card payments will function without disruptions. At the same time, the institution appeals to customers to make all important transactions earlier, if possible.

Will ATM withdrawals increase?

As we recently reported, at the beginning of February, Visa and Mastercard introduced commission increases. The new commission rates mean that the cost of withdrawing cash from an ATM may even double. So far, Mastercard has charged a fee of PLN 1.2 plus 0.05%. payout value. From this month, this amount will not change, but the percentage of the payment has increased to 0.18%. This means that when withdrawing PLN 1,000, the fee will no longer be approximately PLN 1.50, but may reach up to PLN 3. The situation is similar in the case of Visa.

Although in individual terms the change seems small, on the scale of the entire country it means amounts counted in billions of zlotys. So far, most of the commission costs were covered by banks. However, with such an increase by card operators, the question arose whether some institutions would decide to redirect the fees to customers. This could, for example, apply to withdrawals from ATMs of other banks or the use of devices outside your own network (including withdrawals from devices of other banks or an external company).

As RMF FM learns, banks are not planning to introduce any increases for now. Faced with the rising costs of cash withdrawals, institutions will likely further encourage customers to use cashless payments to reduce additional expenses related to operational fees.
