PKO BP customers receive strange phone calls. The bank issued a statement regarding the mergers

PKO Bank Polski lists 81 535 67 65 among the numbers used to contact customers. The connection may appear after using online banking, including after activating the mObywatel application. For a person who has just performed such an action, a call from a payphone may come as a surprise.

The bank also provides other numbers used on its website: 81 535 60 60, 22 866 45 55 and 800 777 000. The presence of the number on this list confirms that PKO BP uses it. However, it does not confirm the authenticity of every call during which it appears on the screen.

As the bank explained, the automatic call can be used to confirm whether the customer has independently and consciously activated mObywatel. The calling Virtual Assistant presents the purpose of the call and asks about the action performed. Such contact is different from a conversation with a PKO BP consultant, so it may raise suspicions even if it occurs right after the application is activated. If activation was not your action, treat the phone call as a signal to urgently contact the bank via the official hotline or the IKO application.

The real number on the screen? PKO BP: This is not proof yet

PKO BP warns against spoofing its numbers. A fraudster may make a number appear on your phone screen that looks like a bank number. Therefore, do not provide your iPKO password, authorization codes or card details during the conversation. Also, do not install the program at the request of the caller.

When you talk to a person pretending to be a bank employee, you can ask to verify their identity in IKO. If the conversation raises doubts, end it and call the bank yourself by dialing the number from the official PKO BP website or by calling via the application.
