PKO BP has introduced a new method of approving some transfers. Selected customers can now confirm the operation with a selfie.

PKO Bank Polski has launched a new method of additional confirmation of selected transfers on the iPKO website. From now on, some users can approve transactions using a selfie. The bank indicates that the solution is intended to simplify the entire process and increase the level of protection of funds accumulated in the account.

The new option does not apply to every operation, but to situations in which the system considers the transfer to require additional verification. In such a case, the client sees a special message in iPKO with the validity date of the operation. The user can then decide whether he wants to confirm the transfer by phone or use a new method.

Confirming selfie transfers works with additional verification

If the customer selects the selfie option, he or she is redirected to the IKO application. There he must take a photo of his face and ID card. Only the correct completion of the entire procedure allows the transfer to be sent to the bank.

This means that the new mechanism has been associated with additional actions on the user’s side. Simply choosing this path is not enough. It is crucial to perform the required activities correctly, because only then can the bank accept the operation and proceed with its execution.

The bank emphasizes that the new solution is intended to increase the level of security of money stored in accounts. If the user fails to confirm the transfer within the specified time, the operation is automatically canceled. This mechanism is intended to additionally reduce the risk associated with the execution of unconfirmed transactions.

PKO BP emphasizes that the new function is to be convenient and intuitive to use. According to the bank, the ability to approve transfers via selfie is part of a broader direction in the development of digital services, which are to be both easy to use and safe for customers using online banking.

The introduction of this method shows that the bank is developing tools for handling transfers in electronic channels. The new feature appeared on the iPKO website, but the IKO application is also needed to complete the entire procedure. This means that both solutions work together within one operation confirmation process.

At the same time, the bank reminds customers about the need to follow basic safety rules when using online banking. This is intended to further strengthen the protection of funds. The new function does not replace user caution, but is intended to be another element that increases transaction security.
