Enterprises need support in the ESG transformation – ideas on how to build a pillar of their competitive advantage on it, but also knowledge and tools collected in one place. The response to these needs is the Energiatransformacja.pl website created by PKO Bank Polski. The next step of the bank on the way to full energy transformation of Polish enterprises is establishing cooperation with the Association of Employers of the Republic of Poland as part of the “Energy Employers of the Republic of Poland” and the construction of a bank team of experts who will help in profiling profitability of energy ecosystems.

Customers during meetings with bank advisers pointed to the need to organize the multitude of information about transformation in the direction of sustainable development so that they could be found in one place. In addition, entrepreneurs are looking for a reliable source of knowledge about subsidies, a situation on the energy market, and the possibility of improving competitiveness using decarbonization paths of enterprises.

– We are a partner for companies and ultimately we want to have over 20 percent. Participation in financing of energy transformation. In response to the increasingly ambitious provisions on climate goals and the participation of renewable energy in the energy mix, we have prepared for companies energiatransformacja.pl. We publish information and educational content in it. We provide entrepreneurs with a comprehensive tool that will support them in maintaining and even increasing competitiveness. We want to be a client’s partner at every stage of his transformation, from education to co -financing of investments that will reduce his emission and energy costs – says Tomasz Majewski, director of the corporate banking transformation department and enterprises.

Advisors’ team

The bank observes that entrepreneurs are bothering the information noise. That is why they are looking for a trusted partner and look at PKO Bank Polski. Energiatransformacja.pl enables companies to easily contact the bank and get support.

– PKO Bank Polski wants to play a strategic role in financing the energy transformation of clients, which requires understanding of the architecture of energy projects and commitment to risk assessment. We are expanding the engineering support team that assesses the efficiency of energy ecosystems, especially for smaller companies. We share the experience of successful investments in our own sources of energy production and show clients how they can reduce energy costs. We estimated that by 2027, total investments for energy transformation in Poland will amount to over PLN 400 billion, with 25% share of transformation financing by banks, i.e. PLN 100 billion. PKO Bank Polski wants to have at least 20% share in the bank financing of such investments and we are prepared for this – says Marzena Nowogróda, director of the Sustainable Development Department at PKO Bank Polski.

Four ways to …

The Energiatransformacja.pl website consists of 4 modules: financing, subsidies, knowledge, and tools. Entrepreneurs will find on the portal information on the possibility of financing projects using the offer of companies from the PKO Bank Polski Group. They also have a subsidy search engine with the possibility of receiving the consulting service. Companies will be able to adapt to their needs public funds that may support the implementation of their investment. Importantly, the search engine determines the likelihood of receiving support.

The tools will help the client understand the energy profile of his activities and will support him throughout the transformation. Among them, the bank, as one of the few on the market, provides a free carbon trail calculator in 3 emission ranges.

The knowledge zone will conduct users through a part related to regulations. It will also show inspiring stories of entrepreneurs who derive real benefits from the transformation, optimizing operating costs.

Cooperation

Each of the modules presented will be successively supplemented with additional content. Materials on the website can be prepared by the bank’s substantive or technological partners – in the case of tools.

– PKO Bank Polski also concluded a cooperation agreement with the Association of Employer of the Republic of Poland. Thanks to this, entrepreneurs who are bank clients can count on technical support of qualified contractors in the implementation of their projects. In addition, they will benefit from refinancing up to 90% of the costs of preparing technical documentation, including energy audits necessary to obtain financing with guarantees under public programs. Funds for this purpose come from the Elena grant – explains Monika Palimąka, director of the ESG Public Programs Department at PKO Bank Polski.

Transformation plan
