PIT 0 for families with children. Experts reveal the cost of the project

PIT 0 for families with at least two children may cost a state budget PLN 13 billion – they reveal the estimates of the environment of President Nawrocki.

Money.pl reached calculations regarding the costs of introducing the PIT 0 tax relief, which was announced by President Karol Nawrocki. According to the analysis of his team, the total cost of this solution is to amount to PLN 13 billion. The bill, which covers this solution, is to be presented on Friday, just after the provisions regarding the Central Communication Port.

President Nawrocki’s proposal

PIT 0 provides for a total income tax exemption for parents raising at least two children – minors, disabled or learning who are under 25 years of age. The exemption is to apply to the first tax threshold. During the election campaign, the president presented this project together with a proposal to raise the tax threshold from the current 120,000. PLN up to 140 thousand zloty.

Earlier estimates prepared by the Ministry of Finance at the Money.pl request indicated a much higher cost – around PLN 29.1 billion. However, these calculations did not take into account the announced raising of the tax threshold.

Costs of zero PIT

In turn, Think Tank Cenea in his April analyzes included not only PIT 0, but also pro -family relief for people settling according to a lump sum and flat tax. In this case, the total cost for the state budget would amount to PLN 15.9 billion.

According to Money.pl sources similar to the president, in Poland about 45 percent of families are raising at least two children. Most children in these families are adults. These data were taken into account when drawing up calculations, which are to justify the amount of PLN 13 billion estimated by the president’s surroundings.

Fulfillment of promises

Karol Nawrocki does not delay the realization of his announcements. According to Paweł Szefernaker, the future head of the presidential office, the newly sworn president on Thursday, August 7, will start a series of meetings with citizens. During visits to various regions of Poland, he will present the first assumptions of bills, which he intends to submit to the Sejm.

In the foreground of the new head of the state, field activity comes. On Thursday, President Nawrocki will visit Kalisz (Greater Poland Voivodeship), and a day later he will appear in Kolbuszowa (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). These meetings are to be an opportunity to present specific legislative declarations. These will be the first proposals of laws submitted by the president shortly after taking office.
