Things got worse when tourists in the Tatra Mountains allowed themselves to ski down Kasprowy Wierch, climb the cross on Giewont, ride bikes on trails despite the ban, walk with dogs, graffiti on the rocks, and risky photo sessions on the frozen Morskie Oko.
Szymon Ziobrowski, director of the Tatra National Park, announced that guards will browse social media in search of people who break the regulations. And punish.

In 2025, the Tatra National Park (TPN) was visited by a record 5,266,672 tourists – according to published statistics based on the sale of admission tickets to the trails. This is the highest turnout in history so far. The greatest traffic – as in previous years – was recorded on the trail to Morskie Oko. Over 1 million 101 thousand people passed through the entry point in Lysa Polana. tourists. High attendance was also recorded in the Kościeliska Valley, which was visited by 656,000 people last year. 378 people, as well as on Kasprowy Wierch, which was reached by 573,000 people only by cable car. 470 tourists.
– Taking into account such a large tourist traffic in the Tatra Mountains, there should be as little behavior as possible that is contrary to the park’s regulations – emphasized the director of the TPN.
What is better not to do in the Tatra Mountains?
You cannot camp outside the designated areas – overnight stays are only allowed in shelters. You are also not allowed to pitch tents or sleep in the wild. You are not allowed to make noise, use fire (including smoking!) or litter. Such behavior can cost tourists PLN 500-1,000. And we have to take this higher limit into account.
In the Tatra Mountains, you cannot swim in ponds and streams, walk on trails at night, go off the trails at any time, or pick any plants. Feeding and disturbing wild animals is highly unwelcome – it costs PLN 3,500! Dogs are prohibited in almost the entire park, with the exception of Droga pod Reglami and the Chochołowska Valley.
Not everyone knows that in the Tatra National Park it is prohibited to photograph and film for commercial purposes without the consent of the Tatra National Park.
