Paweł Fajdek speaks harshly about fans. “This should be suppressed”
Paweł Fajdek is in the news again. This time, the Polish hammer thrower said what he thought about the behavior of many fans after the Olympic Games.
During the Olympic Games in Paris, Polish athletes won 10 medals. In track and field, this time the Polish team only won one medal. Natalia Kaczmarek won bronze in the 400-meter race. In the hammer throw, the best of our men’s representatives was Paweł Fajdek, who came fifth. Later, he said that he was too well prepared for the games and was spinning too fast in the circle. Many fans criticized him for these words.
Fajdek speaks harshly about fans
At the same time, many people criticized the athletes who fared badly during the event, which took place in Paris. There was a lot of hate. Fajdek did not remain indifferent. First, he published a long post on social media, and a few days later he gave an interview to the WP SportoweFakty portal. The five-time world champion in hammer throw admits that the Polish representatives do not deserve such criticism and should be more appreciated for how much they put into training and preparation for the competition.
– Let’s finally start appreciating people who, in these strange times of social media and cryptocurrencies, still want to train or amaze the world with their sports results. It’s much better than making a fool of yourself on the internet – he emphasized in an interview with the WP SportoweFakty portal.
Polish society is the worst?
Fajdek also said that he began to make comparisons to what was happening in other countries. He admitted with regret that in Poland, athletes have it the worst when it comes to criticism. According to our hammer thrower, criticism appears even when it is completely undeserved.
– When I compare the accounts of players from other countries, it turns out that our society is the worst in this respect. In our country, the lack of respect is enormous and practically universal. We must have made some kind of systemic mistake, because such behavior on the internet should have been eradicated a long time ago – concluded Fajdek.
Fajdek said his words before the start of the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial. In it, he did not perform up to expectations, because he came in last, fifth place with a result of 74.53 m.
