July and August are a real challenge for holiday resorts on the island, because they are not able to meet great demand. “Many hotels still have problems finding the right staff,” writes the British Daily Express. This serious problem was recently raised by Thanos Michaelides, the president of the National Hotelier Association, who proposed to include people in retirement and pre-retirement age (55-65 years). “New employees could play roles in customer service or administration,” we read.

Better service quality

Michaelides hopes that experienced people will guarantee better service quality, while making extra money for everyday expenses. Working in gastronomy or hotel industry, especially in summer, is not an easy task – employed for the season often work six days a week, many hours a day.
