Panic at the Milan airport. The man set fire to the briefing zone

The incident took place at the Milan-Malpens port. This is the second largest airport in Italy in terms of the number of passengers served. Those who had the opportunity to appear there on Wednesday, August 20, survived moments of horror. A calm waiting for a journey turned into a nightmare, all because of the explosion of fire.

Languages ​​of smoke and fire floated in the zone of terminal 1 of Terminal 1. It was there that one of the men was intentionally to argue. First, he failed the check -in position with a flammable liquid, then set it on fire. Later, he attacked digital screens and behaved overcumbingly all the time.

“There was a fire everywhere, I saw a boy with a hammer who hit a counter” – described in an interview with BBC Fabiola Gomes, a witness to this unusual situation. At the moment, it is not known why the man committed such an act. Media reports show that he was about 20 years old and was not previously listed.

The recording from the event circulates on the web. It shows a high pole of fire and tourists fleeing in panic. It was not without screams. At the very end of the recording, you can see how the arsonist was hit with a fire extinguisher and pressed against the floor. Everywhere you can hear people calling the police, many of them were afraid of the man’s aggression. He was arrested at the end and is to be accused of damaging property.

Terminal evacuation

Although the case caused a lot of panic, the fire brigade quickly mastered the source of fire and prevented its further spread. According to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, but it was necessary to evacuate part of the terminal. None of the tourists was injured.

On the day of the passengers’ incident, it was warned against possible difficulties and flight delays. Ultimately, there were no significant interference in air traffic. The investigation is currently underway regarding the attempt to start the fire.

This situation resembles many others that have already occurred at airports in different parts of the world. Some people staying in such places go crazy under the influence of alcohol, others when, for example, for some reason they have problems with luggage during check -in or have not been allowed to the flight. In this type of cases, the intervention of services is almost always necessary, and the perpetrators of these events suffer severe consequences.
