On March 13, 2025, he enrolled in gold reports for Polish football. Thanks to the successes of Jagiellonia Białystok and Legia Warsaw, Poland was promoted in the UEFA ranking.

We informed about the successful results of two representatives of PKO BP Ekstraklasa in the UEFA conference league on Thursday, very late evening. It was then that the players of Legia and Norwegian Molde FK ended extra time in Warsaw. The Polish team won promotion to the quarter -finals, winning 2: 0 in the rematch (2: 3 in Norway).

UEFA ranking: Poland was promoted to 15th place. Historical moment!

By adding earlier defeat (0: 2), but not affecting the fate of the two -leggedness that Jagiellonia Białystok players scored at the trip from CERCLE Brugge, it became clear that Poland has two quarter -finals of the League of Conference. Polish champions secured their promotion in the first meeting, winning in Bialystok with Belgians as much as 3: 0. Even the rematch, mentioned 0: 2, did not spoil the moods in the ranks of “Jaga”.

However, the most important from the perspective of the development of Polish club football, it is already known for sure that Poland has climbed the 15th place in the UEFA ranking. What does this mean? From the 2026/27 season (ranking calculated with an annual shift) PKO BP Ekstraklasa will receive five places in European cups. Two in the qualifying rounds for the Champions League (from the second round in the so -called master and league path), one in the qualifying of the Europa League (from the third round) and two in the conference league (from the second round).

In the current club season, Polish teams have already developed 11,000 ranking points, which is the best result in the current century. What’s more, Poland is the only country outside the best five leagues in Europe (England, Italy, Spain, Germany, France), which has at least two representatives still playing in UEFA competitions.

Combining in history, over half a century was waiting for this type of club success in Poland. Exactly 54 years ago, in 1969-71, Legia and Górnik Zabrze were in European cups. How deep this past is, you don’t have to convince anyone.

As for the conference league itself, Jagiellonia and Legia equalized Lech Poznań from the 2022/23 season. At that time, Kolejorz was eliminated in the quarter -finals of the competition, slightly losing a two -time with Italian Fiorentina. Who will Polish clubs play with in the quarter -finals? The challenges will be very serious. Legia will face London Chelsea, and Jagiellonia with the Spanish Real Betis.
