Confirmation of the pimples in Hungary and Slovakia caused a reaction in the neighboring Czech Republic. On Wednesday, March 27, Prague decided to ban the import of animals from Hungary, including meat and animal products that were not treated. The same limitation was introduced earlier for products from Slovakia.

In addition, it was decided that at the entrance to 64 Czech border farms, new rules would apply. Special ditches were created, lined with mats with a disinfectant. From now on you should go through them.

The Czech minister of agriculture informed the public opinion about the detection of a likely source of pimples in northwestern Hungary. He noted that this could mean the stretch of risk area to the part of Austria’s territory. It was already decided that the annual exhibition of breeding animals was moved from the coming weeks to September. Zoological gardens were also closed.

The Slovaks have not met with the pimples before since 1971. This is one of the most contagious animal diseases. The virus is transferred in saliva, urine, feces and milk, and the only way to stop it is to knock out whole herds. A pimples are not a threat to people, but it causes huge losses to breeders.

Cattle is most exposed to this disease, and then also pigs, sheep or goats. For years, Poland has remained a country -free country, and its last case was also found in 1971.
