Only three weekends to see a beautiful place in Poland. “Phenomenon”

Śnieżycowy Jar

In this Polish reserve you can admire a sea of white flowers. This is a good direction for a weekend trip in Poland.

While the Tatra Mountains are preparing for the invasion of tourists during the “crocus fever”, there is no shortage of other places in Poland with beautiful vegetation. One of the most beautiful reserves in Greater Poland will soon open to guests.

A place for a weekend in Poland

This is Śnieżycowy Jar, where you can admire tiny white flowers – spring snowflakes. The sight of their white calyces is, according to the State Forests, “the greatest floral attraction in early spring.” The flowers cover the bottom of the ravine of the oak and hornbeam forest, which currently numbers several thousand. Snowflakes bloom only for two or three weeks, so the inhabitants of Greater Poland and tourists do not have much time to enjoy this view. The flowers cannot be picked – it is a species at risk of extinction and is a protected species.

Głos Wielkopolski informs that this year the reserve is to be open on:

  • March 21-22, 2026,

  • March 28-29, 2026,

  • April 5-6, 2026

Less than an hour from Poznań

This is a unique opportunity to enter the reserve, which is located entirely within the Biedrusko Military Training Ground. Admission there is strictly prohibited. The reserve is located in the Murowana Goślina commune, approximately 40 km north of Poznań. This is a good idea for a trip while visiting the capital of Greater Poland.

It turns out that snowstorms are no less popular than crocuses. “Our reserve has been consistently popular for many years, but we have the impression that every year there are more visitors,” said Hanna Haładzińska-Napierała from the Łopuchówko Forest District on TVN24 last year. She added that the presence of this plant in Śnieżycowy Jar is a phenomenon on a national scale – it is not clear under what circumstances it appeared there, but it “liked” the conditions there.

The Regional Directorate of State Forests in Poznań also recommends another place where snowflakes bloom – a park in Turew, in the area of the Landscape Park. Dezydery Chłapowski. In this case, the flowers were brought there in the 1960s and add charm to the historic palace. There are fees to visit it, but entry to the park is free.
