Only days left to settle the energy subsidies. Check what to do

Farmers who have used subsidies for energy must submit a form to the electricity seller by February 28. Otherwise, they may be obliged to return funds.
Farmers who used the maximum price of electricity are obliged to submit appropriate documents. Completing and sending the information form on the obtained assistance to your electricity seller is a condition for maintaining subsidies. Failure to comply with this obligation may result in the need to return the support received.
Who must submit the form?
Pursuant to the applicable regulations, energy recipients, including farmers, who in the period from July 1 to December 31, 2024 used the maximum energy price 693 PLN/MWhthey must provide the information form on the assistance obtained. The document should be delivered to your energy supplier at the latest to February 28, 2025
Farmers who have used subsidies should also remember to take into account de minimis aid. In the agriculture sector The limit is EUR 50,000 in three years. This means that when completing the form, the sum of support obtained in 2022-2024 should be taken into account, in accordance with the certificates issued by institutions providing assistance.
What farms are subject to the obligation?
When submitting documentation, farmers should determine the status of their farm depending on the number of employees and annual turnover:
- Micro enterprises – less than 10 employees, annual turnover below EUR 2 million,
- Small enterprises – up to 50 employees, annual turnover not exceeding EUR 10 million,
- Medium -sized enterprises – employment below 250 people, annual turnover up to EUR 50 million or annual balance up to EUR 43 million.
What threatens for failure to fulfill the obligation?
Farmers who do not submit the form on time may be obliged to reimbursement of the entire additional payment received. To avoid this situation, it is worth not delaying and transfer the documents to the electricity supplier as soon as possible.
The obligation results from the Act of 27 October 2022 on the reduction of energy prices and the support of some recipients in 2023 and 2024 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1622, as amended), as well as with EU Commission Regulation 2024/3118 regarding de minimis aid in the agricultural sector.
