“One salary is no longer enough.” Poles are increasingly choosing to take one step

Pusty portfel

Every fifth Pole decides to take up seasonal work during the holidays. The most common reason is the need to finance additional expenses.

Seasonal work remains an important element of the summer employment market. The Casual Work Index, conducted by the Tikrow Immediate Work Agency, shows that 45% of people declared interest in taking up work this year. Polish pupils and students.

In the third quarter of this year as many as two thirds (65%) of companies planned to use casual workers. Almost 40 percent indicates a seasonal increase in orders as the reason for using additional employees.

Many companies sabotage their own best season and don’t even know it. They employ dozens of people for the top orders, and then throw them into the deep end without a plan, without documents, without a clear scope of responsibilities. Effect? A seasonal employee who was supposed to relieve the team becomes an additional job to be handled – and exactly when the manager has the least time – says Tomasz Wykowski, Country Manager Poland at Factorial.

Seasonal work not only for students. “One salary is no longer enough”

Although part-time summer work is associated primarily with students who earn extra money, among all adult Poles, 19 percent of Poles have already declared their intention to take up part-time work this summer. respondents. As a reason for their interest in part-time work, over half of them (58%) indicated the need to finance additional expenses, and 48% mentioned high prices and the rising costs of everyday life.

Let’s put an end to the myth of “holiday earning extra money for fun”. When every fifth adult Pole is looking for an additional job, and almost half of them do it because they do not manage their household budget, this is not a seasonal curiosity – it is a signal that one salary is no longer enough for an increasing number of people. And this changes the rules of the game for employers: the seasonal candidate did not come “for a moment, for fun”, he came for real income and will evaluate the company like a full-fledged employee – based on the conditions, schedule and whether anyone takes him seriously. Companies that continue to treat seasonal workers as disposable labor will wonder next year why no one is coming back to them – comments Tomasz Wykowski.
