ING Bank Śląski warns against a wave of false investments. One mistake may cost the loss of all savings.
More and more Poles are becoming victims of fraudsters impersonating investment advisers. ING Bank Śląski has published an urgent message in which it warns its clients against threat and calls for special caution. The bank warns that one hasty movement may end in a loss of all life achievements.
How do scammers work?
According to ING Bank Śląski, there are more and more advertising on the Internet promising fast and high profit. Fraudsters use the images of famous people – politicians, athletes or celebrities – to give their offers credibility. In fact, the presented statements are manipulated or created using advanced software.
The diagram of criminals is repetitive. After clicking on the advertisement and leaving the phone number, the victim receives a call from “investment advisor”. He argues that a small payment is enough to start investing. Then he urges to transfer more and more sums, showing fake websites on which the funds are allegedly multiplied. In fact, the money goes directly to the pocket of fraudsters.
The bank also warns against another threat – false software. Criminals, informing about “profits to pay”, ask victims to install programs such as Anydesk, Teamviewer, Zoom and Splashtop. Thanks to them they gain full access to a computer or phone. If the victim logs in to online banking at this time, fraudsters can take over all funds.

ING Bank Śląski reminds that bank employees never ask you to install programs, provide passwords, BLIK codes or send scans of documents. Login data and information on payment cards should always be kept secret.
How to protect your money? The bank appeals to remain calm and never make decisions under the pressure of the interlocutor. In the case of a suspicious phone, it is necessary to verify whether a bank employee is actually calling – this can be done using the official “ING” function. Before investing money, it is also worth checking the credibility of the offer on the pages of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection or Mrokerage House.
