These are fraudsters who impersonate the ministry and try to extort both login details and money. The fake news is intended to suggest the need to pay fees to update entries in BDO.

The ministry points out that the scale of such activities is growing. Cybercriminals try to make their messages credible by using well-known brands and names of people holding public functions. The goal is to create pressure and get recipients to perform the indicated actions without thorough verification.

Fraudsters convince recipients that they must bear the alleged costs associated with the BDO register, and to perform this operation it is necessary to provide login details to the services. Meanwhile, official communication of the government administration takes place exclusively using the gov.pl domain. This is one of the basic elements that can help recognize a fraud attempt.
