One billion zlotys for road construction. This region is getting ready for investments

Podkarpacie will receive PLN 1 billion for the expansion and modernization of roads under the new EU financial perspective.

As part of the new financial perspective of the European Union for 2021-2027, Podkarpacie will receive support in the amount of PLN 1 billion for the expansion and modernization of roads. The vast majority of this amount comes from EU funds, which will help finance necessary investments in the region’s infrastructure.

One billion for road expansion

During the “European Roads” conference, representatives of the region, including Podkarpackie Voivode Teresa Kubas-Hul, Voivodeship Marshal Władysław Ortyl and director of the Podkarpackie Provincial Roads Authority (PZDW) Piotr Miąso, discussed plans for the coming years. Representatives of local governments were also present, including the mayor of Dynów, Zygmunt Frańczak, and the mayors of the communes of Dynów, Hyżne and Ostrów. The meeting was aimed at presenting the financing strategy and implementation of key road projects in the region.

Marshal Władysław Ortyl emphasized the importance of European funds in the development of the road network in Podkarpacie. “In the new financial period, we are allocating PLN 1 billion for the modernization of provincial roads, most of which comes from EU funding under the European Funds for Podkarpacie and European Funds for Eastern Poland programs,” Ortyl explained. In his opinion, such significant financial support will enable improvement of communication and safety on Podkarpacie roads.

Roads to modernization

Thanks to these modernization measures, the following will be achieved, among others: provincial roads and key regional connections, which will increase the communication cohesion of Podkarpacie with the rest of the country. In particular, the planned investments include both the reconstruction of existing routes and the construction of new sections, which is expected to contribute to the improvement of local and regional transport and improved access to key points in the region.

Under the new perspective, co-financing will include: expansion of the provincial road No. 881 Kańczuga-Pruchnik,expansion of provincial road No. 986 on the Ostrów-Ropczyce section, Reconstruction and expansion of DW 878 on the Tyczyn-Dylągówka section and Extension of provincial road No. 988 from Czudec to Zaborów.
