On the days of ZUS will start sending letters to seniors. It’s about a new benefit

In January, regulations regarding the widow’s pension came into force. It is a combination of a survivor’s pension with another benefit, e.g. with a pension or disability pension. Until now, the widowed person had to decide whether to receive his pension or survivors from the deceased spouse (it was a maximum of 85 percent of the deceased’s benefit). As a result of changes, you can choose 100 percent for payment. survivors’ pensions and 15 percent own benefits, or 100 percent own benefits and 15 percent survivors’ pension.

To receive a widow pension, the following conditions must be met:

• reaching retirement age – at least 60 years for women and 65 years for men,

• will remain in marital community until the day of the spouse’s death, joint householding,

• Acquiring the right to a survivor’s pension not earlier than 5 years before the retirement age at

• The widow or widower may not be married at present.

ZUS starts with shipping

The call for widow’s pension applications began on January 1 this year. The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) reports that by June 12 he received over 900,000 documents. The institution informs that it will serve 88 percent. all applications regarding the benefit.

The applications also received other pension and disability pension bodies, such as: Prison Service Retirement Bureau (547 applications), Military Pension Bureau (3506), and Retirement Plant (5559). Nearly 117.5 thousand Agricultural social insurance (KRUS) received applications.

From July 1, ZUS will start sending a decision on granting or refusing a widow. From next month the benefits will be paid. They will take place: 1st, 6th, 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th day of the month.
