Olympic champion refuses to stay silent. "They want to sue me"

Dawid Tomala has spoken out again about the Polish Athletics Association. The Olympic champion from Tokyo believes that there needs to be changes in this organization.

During the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Polish athletes won 9 out of 14 medals collected by the entire team. Three years later in Paris, it was only one medal out of 10 collected by the team. Our only medalist in the queen of sports was Natalia Kaczmarek, who won bronze in the 400-meter race. Dawid Tomala, the Olympic champion in the 50-kilometer walk from Tokyo, did not take part in the games. However, he does not regret this as much as he regrets the state of Polish athletics.

Tomala at “war” with PZLA?

During the Olympic Games in Paris, Tomala spoke quite strongly about the Polish Athletics Association. His words were quickly quoted by the media.

– What is happening there in PZLA is a tragedy and everything needs to be changed. The whole system needs to be changed, the people who are there need to be changed, because these games show that something is not working – Dawid Tomala said then.

Now, the 35-year-old has announced that he does not regret his words, but he knows that they were really strong. Chodziarz revealed why he decided to speak out in such a way and at the same time why he does not intend to hush up this matter.

Will there be a court case against Tomala?

– I care about the good of athletics. I don’t want to go to war with anyone. It doesn’t really matter to me whether a person likes me or not. It’s a secondary issue. I said too much, but I shouldn’t have. Sometimes it happens that too much is conveyed in emotions. It was my mistake. I won’t hide it. I take it on the chest. I don’t want people to treat my words as the words of someone who is desperate because they didn’t go to the Olympics. However, I felt that I was treated badly – the athlete emphasized in an interview with the sport.tvp.pl portal.

There has been a conspiracy of silence between Tomala and PZLA, but the organization’s activists are most likely very angry at the Olympic champion from Tokyo. To such an extent that a legal battle is possible.

– The PZLA representatives did not talk to me. However, I heard rumors from behind the scenes that they want to sue me for what I said. I don’t know anything more – Tomala added.
