Not Wrocław and not Warsaw. This city has the most popular station in Poland

Kraków Główny

Wrocław no longer has the most popular station in Poland. This year, two cities overtook it in the ranking.

The latest data from the Office of Rail Transport may be surprising. It turns out that Wrocław has unexpectedly lost its leading position and the most popular station in Poland is no longer there. What’s more, this year it was beaten by two cities. This does not mean, however, that passengers traveled to the capital of Lower Silesia noticeably less often. Some of the passenger traffic was taken over by other Wrocław stations.

Kraków and Poznań are at the forefront

There have been major changes at the top of the ranking of the most popular railway stations in Poland this year. For the first time in years, Wrocław Główny dropped from first place to third place. This year’s leader in the ranking was Kraków Główny, which served as many as 30.76 million passengers in 2025, which is the best result in the history of statistics kept by the Office of Rail Transport. It is also the first Polish station to exceed the mark of 30 million travelers in one year. Next, in second place, was Poznań Główny with 29.37 million passengers.

Third Wrocław served 28.37 million people. Even though the result was 1.4 percent lower than a year earlier, this does not mean a decline in the popularity of railways among residents and travelers. As indicated by the Office of Rail Transport, some passengers simply started using other stations in Wrocław. As a result, traffic was spread over more points and the total number of people traveling by rail across the city continued to increase.

Warsaw in fourth place

A similar arrangement has been visible for years in Warsaw, where passenger traffic is not concentrated at one station. Warszawa Centralna therefore took only fourth place in the ranking of the most popular stations, because long-distance trains also serve the Zachodnia, Gdańska and Wschodnia stations. The next positions went to the Gdańsk Główny, Gdańsk Wrzeszcz and Gdynia Główna stations. Rynek Kolejowy points out that the highest growth dynamics was recorded in Białystok – the number of passengers increased there from 3.2 to 3.8 million.
