Over 56 percent Poles did not plan any May trip – according to a SW Research survey for “Wprost”. Those who leave home will most often choose the most obvious directions.

The long-awaited May Day weekend has begun. For many people who enjoy days off from work and study, it is a time of rest and regeneration. There are many indications that this year the weather will be good for holidaymakers.

The latest forecast of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management shows that on May 1, the maximum temperature will range from 14 degrees Celsius in the northeast and in the foothill areas of the Carpathians, about 20 degrees in the center, to 23 degrees in the northwest. On Saturday, thermometers will indicate values ​​ranging from 19 degrees in places in the east, about 23 degrees in the center, to 26 degrees in the west, and in the foothill areas of the Carpathians it will be 17-20 degrees.

In the latest survey for “Wprost”, which was conducted by SW Research a few days before the May weekend, we asked what travel plans Poles have. As much as 56.4 percent declared that they did not intend to leave, and 15.8 percent it was still undecided at that time. 9.4 percent respondents planned a trip to Poland, and 8.8 percent – to the Polish mountains. 5 percent respondents bought a trip abroad.

6.2 percent respondents travel, but to places that cannot be classified as the previously mentioned answers. Respondents had the opportunity to enter their own variants, and trips to their families and other cities in Poland dominated among them (the most frequently mentioned were Warsaw and Krakow, and Masuria among the regions). Some respondents also indicated that they would rest on the so-called plots, and still others have planned trips to lakes or organized forest trips.
