Not only the Baltic Sea. A paradise in Pomerania with lakes and beautiful views
This is a Polish region that attracts fans of charming lands. It is called the green heart of Pomerania with a view of the lakes. It will be useful not only during the May weekend.
This time we suggest you forget about foreign destinations, even if they are cheap last minute. We also take you away from large cities such as Krakow or Gdańsk. We encourage you to get to know Kashubian Switzerland and its most beautiful places.
Kashubian Switzerland is located here
The area of the central part of the Kashubian Lake District in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, famous for its hilly landscape, numerous lakes and forests, is called Kashubian Switzerland. As you can see, when relaxing in this voivodeship, you don’t have to go to the Baltic Sea to be surrounded by beautiful views.
Experts from the Triverna.pl booking portal remind us about this unique place, emphasizing that it is one of the best, non-obvious last-minute destinations for the May weekend. It was included on the list alongside other six Polish gems such as: Szczecinek and Lake Trzesiecko, Wieżyca and the Kashubian Mountains, Raj Cave near Kielce, Legnica, Złoty Stok or Tykocin and Podlasie.
This is what the pearl of Pomerania hides
Are you curious what exactly Kashubian Switzerland offers? The best places to stay are the picturesque lakes – Ostrzyckie and Raduńskie, surrounded by hiking and cycling routes and numerous viewpoints. In the area you can also count on horse farms, workshops and local educational attractions. A good way to spend time will be a visit to the Kashubian Ceramics Museum in Chmielno, where you can learn about the history of the region and try your hand at the pottery wheel.
The above-mentioned attractions are best visited by car along the 21-kilometer Kashubian Road. On the way you pass: Garcz, Chmielno, Zarzy, Ręboszewo, Brodnica Dolna, Ostrzyce and Wieżyca, and real hits await you everywhere. The list includes, among others: a promenade with a viewpoint on Lake Kłodno, Góra Sobótka with a characteristic Koźlak windmill or Złota Góra near Brodnica Górna.
Fans of bicycle routes will enjoy the 34 km long Blue Trail from the railway station in Gdańsk-Osowa to Sianów. Traveling around the area, you will find gentle hills, thousands of lakes, fields, meadows, shady gorges and wild forests of the former Kashubian Forest. In many of the villages mentioned above, you can look for accommodation in agritourism farms, where most of the facilities are suitable for entire families.
