A survey conducted by PBS for the Polish Tourist Organization shows that this year, every second Pole will go on a May holiday. Even more interesting are the detailed results.
May trips are becoming more and more popular every year, and 2026 is likely to continue this trend. The PBS survey shows that as many as 48% of people plan to go on a trip with at least one overnight stay in the period from May 1 to May 3 or similar. Poles, i.e. by 5 points. percent more than a year ago.

The survey shows that decisions about the May weekend are usually made a month before departure (31 percent of respondents answered this way). As many as 31 percent go to the mountains. Of Poles who spend the May weekend in the country, 22% go to the Baltic Sea, 14% to cities, 13% to the countryside, and 11% to lakes.
The most popular among domestic May Day trips is the Pomeranian Voivodeship – it was indicated by as many as 16 percent. respondents. Right behind it is the Lesser Poland Voivodeship with 15 percent, and in third place are the Lower Silesian and Masovian Voivodeships (10 percent each).

17 percent respondents intend to spend PLN 501-1,000 per person on a May weekend trip in Poland. The same percentage chooses an amount in the range of PLN 1,001 – 1,500. 14% plan to spend PLN 1,501 to PLN 2,000. respondents. The same percentage does not want to exceed PLN 500 per person.
May Day 2026 abroad. Where are we going?
If a trip abroad, it is primarily to a warm seaside (35%). The popular city break, i.e. sightseeing, is chosen by 23 percent. asked. Mountains are indicated by 17 percent. people who spend the May weekend outside Poland.
