Not on the Baltic Sea at all. Beach with attractions 1.5 hours away from Warsaw

This beach is the new showcase of the Sulejów Lagoon. Smardzewice has long been chosen by the inhabitants of the province. Łódź for summer recreation, but residents of Warsaw will also be close to it – it is only 1.5 hours away by car. Just a few years ago, the area was not impressive, but in 2023 it underwent a metamorphosis costing over PLN 24 million. Today, guests can enjoy a wide sandy beach, a pier and a promenade. That’s why many visitors compare the place to seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea.

– A walk along the promenade, romantic moments on the pier, exclusive sunbathing – this is also possible in the Łódź province. The shore of the Sulejów Lagoon has gained a new glow – the Marshal’s Office of the Łódź Voivodeship informed about this transformation.

“We were last here 4 years ago. It was depressing and dingy. We heard that the beach had been renovated, but what we found here exceeded our expectations. Last weekend, a lot of people came and the beach was crowded, but since Monday it has become deserted. The water is warm, there are places to eat, and it’s close to Łódź,” Mrs. Ania from Andrespol told “Express Ilustrowany”.

There are many attractions on site, including:

• water playground for children,

• classic playground,

• outdoor gym

• beach volleyball court,

• amphitheater with audience,

• hammocks in the shade of trees

For pedestrians and cyclists

The new infrastructure was designed with families, cyclists and people looking for a quiet holiday in mind. One of the biggest attractions is the revitalized pier, approximately 0.3 km long. The task also included the construction of an access road to the quay along with a promenade towards the dam.

An alternative to traveling by car from Warsaw is to travel by train to Tomaszów Mazowiecki and from there by direct bus to Smardzewice.
