Not Busko-Zdrój and not Kołobrzeg. This intimate health resort has springs just like in Italy

Polskie uzdrowisko

This health resort is a hit in southern Poland. Although not as famous as Ciechocinek or Busko-Zdrój, it offers a lot and is sometimes compared to the Italian pearl. Just visit the province. Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

Wysowa-Zdrój, because this is the health resort we are talking about, is located in a charming place in the Low Beskids, on the border with Slovakia. There are patients requiring specialized treatments, but also tourists who love mountains, peace and beautiful views. Regardless of how old you are and which group you belong to, many data show that you should not be bored there.

Wysowa-Zdrój Spa

Each spa town stands out from the others, for example Kołobrzeg, Ciechocinek or Sopot are associated with bustling sanatoriums and crowds. Much also depends on the season, because, for example, in winter, some people give up their stays and in many places it becomes quieter. Wysowa-Zdrój has almost never become famous as a noisy place, but it still attracts tourists.

Patients have been coming there for hundreds of years to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system (degeneration, post-traumatic), respiratory system, rheumatological diseases, as well as women’s ailments and circulatory disorders. In addition to treatments and various sanatoriums, they can count on the forest surroundings and the hills of the Hańczowskie Mountains. There are also hiking, horse riding and cycling trails, numerous stud farms, religious monuments, the Ropa River and mineral waters – thanks to them, the health resort has been compared to famous places abroad.

Comparison to an Italian gem

The mineral waters in Wysowo-Zdrój were appreciated especially in the 19th century and were compared to the springs of Italian Merano. We are talking about an exceptionally beautiful town with thermal baths located in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, in the province of Bozen-South Tyrol. Interest in Polish waters from Małopolska occurred in the period before World War I, when Wysowa was one of the most famous health resorts in the country. After the war, the spa facility was destroyed, but it returned in 1959.

Today, visitors can enjoy waters belonging to alkaline sorrel saturated with free carbon dioxide (bicarbonate-chloride-sodium sorrel), characterized by a large variety of trace elements. Wysowianka mineral water is produced in Wysowa-Zdrój based on these waters. In the center of the spa, and more precisely in the Spa Park, there is a pump room available to all interested people. There we can also use the graduation tower or sit by the atmospheric fountain.
