Who of us as a child did not feel excited about the upcoming trip to the camps? A few days of unrestricted fun away from parents at almost everyone caused a faster heartbeat.

As it turns out, age is not an obstacle to go back to childhood and experience a similar adventure again. However, this time in an improved version, because without educators who are guarding the order and silence of the night. Adult colony organizers only choose the elements that recall the best memories. Because here the chief rule is the lack of coercion.

Polish women love these trips. New trend in traveling

Since the time of Pandemic, these types of trips are gaining more and more popularity. The new vacation trend conquers the hearts of Polish travelers, in particular travelers, because the vast majority of offers are directed to women.

Only a few years ago trips to SPA dominated. Now the offer is very wide. There are plenty of thematic trips – from relaxing, where emphasis is mainly placed on rest in the spirit of slow life, to typically sports, during which you can train under the guidance of qualified trainers, often former professional athletes.

Something for themselves will find both amateurs of calm yoga and competitive running in the mountains, bicycle riding or surfing. Trips differ in the place of accommodation – from luxurious five -star hotels to camping on which you sleep in tents. This results in varied costs.

Adult colonies. Here the age limit does not apply

The organizers agree that everyone – regardless of age, profession or the contents of the portfolio, arrive at adults. There is no upper age limit, which is why there are situations in which we have – side by side with our daughters – they catch the first surfing waves.

Katarzyna Jaklewicz, the founder of “girls who love kitesurfing” organizes trips for adults for ten seasons – both in Poland – on the Hel Peninsula and abroad, among others in Egypt, Sicily and Portugal.

In an interview with WPROST.pl, she emphasizes that participants at all ages come to her Camps, but the vast majority are 30-50 years old.

– Due to the fact that in everyday life women have many more responsibilities, they need to “unhook roller skates”, relaxation and “release from thinking” – he explains.

– Girls want to be able to give someone vacation management. They want to feel for a few days that they don’t have to think about anything and can blame their responsibility for organizing holidays, but also attractions during them – he adds.

Adult colonies, i.e. leaving the comfort zone

Many people decide to go to adults alone – not knowing any of the other participants before. For some, such a way out of your comfort zone and staying for several days in the company of completely strangers can be difficult.

Supporters of this type of trips unanimously emphasize that the lack of friends is not a problem, because the organizers usually put a lot of emphasis on the integration of participants and organize activities during which you can get to know each other. In many cases, however, they are not necessary, because establishing relationships is natural, by itself.

Katarzyna Jaklewicz points out that 90 % of her trips Participants arrive, not knowing anyone before. A moment later he has a group of good friends. – The huge value of the campsites are made during them. These friendships last long after the end of trips – he explains.

– Common passion – which is becoming surfing or kitesurfing – he connects, and there are also numerous activities integrating after classes on the water. What’s more, water sports attract a specific type of girls who have a certain dose of courage and are not afraid to get full handfuls of life – he adds.

What attracts adult colony participants?

Daria Stryjek, the organizer of Girls Camp trips, also believes that the popularity of adult colony is largely affected by the desire to meet new people who like similar things.

– Girls often go with us who go to a trip without friends and after the first day they integrate well with the rest of the team. I think we lack time with others outside the world of the Internet. We return to simple entertainment and building offline relationships – he explains in an interview with Wprost.pl.

He notes that participants also attract the opportunity to try a new sport or workshop for the first time, which is often not in everyday rush.

– Currently, Surf Camps are the most popular, where you can try surfing on the Baltic waves under the guidance of great instructors. For participants, the whole envelope is also extremely pleasant and these small details that make the trip remember long after returning – he states.

A new travel trend. I know why Poles loved adult colonies

I decided to check if adult colonies are really the best idea for vacation. Although this was not my first adventure with this type of trips, this year I decided to go to Hel with girls who love kitesurfing.

The cottages themselves do not need to be praised to anyone – a small, charming town located between Władysławowo and Jastarnia is the mecca of all water sports enthusiasts. The popularity of this place is influenced by the unique shape of the Puck Gulf DNA on a European scale, which means that both amateurs and professionals can try here.

During the trip to four nights, our home becomes Surf House at the camping of Chałupy 4. Only a few minutes walk away from the wide, Baltic beach. Cottages have only basic equipment, a few two -story beds, a kettle and a farelka, which turns out to be necessary during the extremely capricious Polish summer this year. There is a colony atmosphere at the campsite, there are shared tables, fridge or bathroom.

Camp officially begins with a small surprise for participants, which is an integration grill with a view of the picturesque sunset on the Puck Bay.

Most of us came to Chałup alone, some girls know each other from previous trips. However, this is not a problem, because the topics for the talks do not end and after a few hours we feel as good in our company as if we have known each other for years.

The wind dictates the conditions on the Baltic Sea

The next days are filled with attractions – the conditions are dictated by the wind, because it is the weather that it depends on whether kitesurfing and surfing lessons can take place on a given day.

In addition to water classes, among others, Yoga practices, workshops on creating aromatherapy oils or a music quiz. Each day ends with a joint dinner and an occasional toast for progress. Some end with a joint karaoke until 3 am.

Time at adult colonies passes quickly and the return to reality is difficult. In addition to beautiful memories, I also bring acquaintances that will last long after the end of the trip.

These few days in Chałupy was a perfect rest for me, a reset for my head and an opportunity to try something new. During this type of trips, you can really appreciate the joy of being with other people, doing something together and active rest in nature. And probably these factors make Poles so eagerly put on adult colonies.
