The Karkonosze National Park published a photo of the renovated trail. Internet users’ reactions may be surprising.

In the Karkonosze National Park, the green trail through Śnieżne Kotły, located in the area of Śnieżne Stawki, has been reopened. For the first time, tourists could see the effects of several months of work in photos posted online. Unfortunately, not everyone liked the direction in which the renovation went. Some people accused the park authorities of destroying a beautiful and wild place. There were also many who praised the performers. The main cause of disagreement turned out to be the footbridges.

A trail has been opened in the Karkonosze Mountains, and Internet users are dissatisfied

At the end of last week, KPN announced the reopening of the long-awaited trail. On Friday, July 11, the first photo of the renovated road through Śnieżne Kotły appeared on social media. You can see one of the new wooden promenades on which pedestrians can move. However, the apparent convenience did not convince some commentators, who accused the park authorities of commercialization and abandoning what is most beautiful in the Karkonosze Mountains. However, the intentions were completely different.

The footbridges are intended to improve safety

KPN explains that the new footbridges help guide tourist traffic along the designated route, limit the trampling of valuable habitats and allow water to flow freely under the structure. Regular visitors also point out that they had been there for years, but needed improvements. They are also not located along the entire length of the trail, but only at a few sensitive points.

Park representatives remind that work in this area will continue. “So please be careful and follow the signs and instructions of KPN employees and contractors. There may be temporary difficulties in places, but it is now possible to walk along the green trail through Śnieżne Kotły,” we read in the published post.

Building footbridges is a necessary protection against the growing tourist traffic. The Karkonosze National Park is visited by over 2.5 million tourists annually.
