No more uncertainty for drivers. Important declaration of the minister
Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański announced the extension of the CPN package. Lower fuel prices will apply until the end of May.
On March 26, the government adopted a package called “Fuel Prices Lower” (CPN). A day later, it was accepted by parliamentarians and then signed by President Karol Nawrocki. The package includes, among others: reduction of the VAT rate on fuels from 23%. up to 8%, a reduction in excise duty to the minimum EU levels (by PLN 29/l for petrol and PLN 28/l for diesel), as well as the introduction of a maximum retail price for fuels.
Formally, the CPN is valid until May 15, i.e. until next Friday. However, it is already known that the program will be extended. This was announced on Wednesday by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański, during a conversation with journalists at the Impact conference.
CPN extended until the end of May
— The “CPN” program will certainly be extended until the end of May – declared the head of the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
This decision is not a surprise. The extension of the package by another two weeks was recently suggested by Energy Minister Miłosz Motyka.
– I think we have this decision pretty much mapped out. Everything indicates that the CPN program will be extended for another two weeks – the head of the Ministry of Energy said on Monday on TVP Info.
Meanwhile, as the latest survey by SW Research for “Wprost” shows, nearly 70 percent Poles expect the CPN package to be extended until the end of this year. Only every tenth survey participant (11.1%) has a different opinion, and 19.8% has no opinion on this matter.
The survey shows that respondents with basic vocational education are most likely to support maintaining the package until the end of 2026 (77.6%).
Let us remind you that today (May 13) the maximum prices for individual fuels are:
-
unleaded petrol Pb95: PLN 6.28 per liter,
-
unleaded petrol Pb98: PLN 6.87 per liter,
-
diesel oil: PLN 6.84 per liter.
