No more hiding the prices of apartments. Sejm against unfair practices

The Sejm supported the law that reveals the prices of apartments. The new regulations are to increase transparency and protect buyers from hidden costs.
“The Sejm unanimously supported the act revealing the prices of apartments. 1: 0 in the fight against dishonest developers. Because they are the most important people,” wrote Szymon Hołownia, Speaker of the Sejm and a third way candidate for president in today’s post on Platform X.
The Sejm adopted an amendment to the act, which will impose on developers the obligation to fully reveal the prices of apartments – from the first announcement to the finalization of the transaction. The new regulations are to increase market transparency and better protect buyers. Failure to comply with these obligations, as well as concealing additional costs, will be subject to sanctions.
Prices of apartments from developers – the Sejm decided
The Sejm almost unanimously supported the draft amendment to the Act on the protection of the rights of the buyer of a residential premises or a single -family house, the Act on the Developer Fund for the Guarantee Fund and the Act on Competition and Consumer Protection. As many as 418 deputies were in favor of the changes, two abstained, no one was against. The project was widely supported in the lower parliamentary chamber, which shows great compliance as to the need to strengthen consumer protection on the real estate market. The act was forwarded for further work in the Senate.
Prices of apartments from developers – which is proposed by the amendment
The amendment adopted by the Sejm, as we read in its justification, is a response to insufficient transparency of the housing market, in particular in the scope of access to current information on transaction prices on individual local markets.
The most important solutions contained in the bill include:

creation of the Dom portal,

creating a catalog of data and information collected for the needs of the House portal and issues regarding their processing,

regulating the rules of access to statistics.
