No more free entry to the favorite country of Poles. Officials will not stop the eye

Great Britain changes the principles of entering the country for foreigners. From April 2, electronic travel authorization (ETA) has become a requirement.
Citizens of all countries covered by visa -free and transit movement will feel tightening the regulations regarding entry into Great Britain.
What does the ETA document entitle for?
The digital document allows a one-time maximum stay in the United Kingdom or multiple entries for a period of up to 2 years (or passport expiry date) for:
-
tourist;
-
business;
-
scientific;
-
visiting the family.
However, this document does not allow you to take up a paid work. It also does not release from the obligation to have a passport.
Purpose of the ETA introduction
The introduction of ETA aims to increase control over migration movement. Documents will be checked by airline staff offering flights to Great Britain before boarding.
However, having a document does not guarantee entry to Great Britain. Travelers must undergo passport control and obtain the consent of the border service officers.
In order to obtain an ETA document, an appropriate application should be submitted (available from the beginning of March) via the UK ETA App or British government site. The cost of this document It is currently (until April 9) 10 pounds, and from April 9 the ETA price will increase to 16 pounds.
Who is released from ETA?
British border services warn against attempts to cross the British border without a valid ETA. Although some officers may “turn a blind eye” to the lack of documents, it should be noted that the law is valid from April 2 and may be respected.
There is a certain transition period. The period when we do not necessarily enforce the new law. People will still be able to get on a train or plane. Around September or October, this will change – said the head of the Border Guard Phil Douglas in an interview with Polish Radio.
Importantly, ETA does not apply to all foreigners. Released from having this document are:
-
owners of British and Irish passports;
-
people with the right to live, work or students;
-
Citizens of countries covered by visa – they will have to apply for a visa to enter the UK
