On Wednesday, May 28, the season 2025 of the Polish volleyball team begins. Olympic runners -up will play in the Katowice Spodek.

The matches of the Polish volleyballers national team enjoy unflagging interest. In Wednesday noon, apart from the match itself, the next edition of Aleja Gwiazd Gwiazdło will take place. In Katowice, on Aleja Korfanty – leading directly to Spodek – their pressed hands on special, commemorative plates, more important people for Polish volleyball will present. Among them will be coach Nikola Grbić.

Mateusz Czunkiewicz convinced the Serbian trainer a few weeks ago about how special the Serbian trainer is in an interview. Libero, who was appointed to the national team, after a very successful season in PlusLiga. For “Czunka” it will be a debut.

– In fact, I didn’t know what to expect. I did not recognize the coach before, I did not know what he was in training. I only heard that in addition to being a great professional, he is a good speaker. I noticed it from the first training, the first meeting. I thought it would be more organizational. Coach Grbić, however, said so many cool words, the accused statements. And when it ended after 10pm, if he said that we are going to training now, I was ready immediately. I could apply the knee pads, our coach worked so motivational. I did not expect this at all (…) I knew that there would be a pursuit of perfection here, in everyone, let’s call it a “simplest” element – and this is also the case here. I am happy because every reflection at this training is important. It cannot be made in a half whistle, it is known, you do not always succeed perfectly, but you have to try hard. This is what the trainer expects – he described during his stay at the team in Spała.

As for the impressed hands, in addition to coach Grbic, the attacking Łukasz Kaczmarek, coach Raul Lozano, Łukasz Żygadło, European champions 2003 and 2005 and Orlen – in 15 years of cooperation with the Polish Volleyball Association will be honored. Start of the ceremony at 16:30.

Volleyballers will take part in the tournament, which will take place in Katowice (Spodek) and Gliwice (Presidento Arena).

During Silesia Cup, the last, Saturday clash, in which the Polish team will play with Germany. That is, with the quarter -finalist of last year’s IO, led by coach Michał Winiarski.
