New Year’s Eve in the mountains doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s cheaper here than in Zakopane

However, there are many more offers exceeding the threshold of PLN 1,300 and, unfortunately, this is not the fee for a luxury hotel. Meanwhile, in many nearby towns, prices for four corners during the New Year’s party are much lower. This includes, among others: about Szczawnica and Czorsztyn near the Pieniny Mountains. It will also be slightly cheaper than in the Tatra Mountains in the Bieszczady Mountains.

New Year’s Eve in the mountains at a low price

Many tourists gave up celebrating the arrival of the New Year in the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains. No wonder – seeing the prices of accommodation on Krupówki, you can come to the conclusion that it would be more reasonable to spend the money on a week abroad in an all-inclusive hotel. There is also a shortage of places in Zakopane – 97 percent of facilities for stays between December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025 have been sold out. Although at this time the high occupancy rate applies to most mountain resorts in Małopolska and Podkarpacie, you can still find places on the Internet where you can spend the night for half the price of accommodation near Wielka Krokiew. In search of the best offers, it is worth looking a little further east. Only two hours from Zakopane separate us from Szczawnica and Czorsztyn, equally picturesque and slightly cheaper alternatives to spend the last night of December.

A room for PLN 100

Poles can book the cheapest rooms for New Year’s Eve in the mountains for around PLN 100 per night. Such prices can really be found on Booking in small villages in the Bieszczady Mountains. This, of course, is not a tempting option for everyone, and certainly not for those who, instead of peace and quiet, are looking for night experiences (other than encountering a bear along the way). Those looking for slightly more entertaining places may be interested in the Pieniny Mountains. In Szczawnica, a popular health resort in Lesser Poland, accommodation is still available for about PLN 500 for a double room. However, guests will not be able to admire fireworks – this year the city abandoned them in favor of a laser show. An alternative to Zakopane may also be a trip to Slovakia. In the Poprad area, accommodation costs up to PLN 300 per day. However, the offers decrease with every hour. These are the last moments to decide on a New Year’s Eve trip.
