New service in PKP Intercity. “A step towards modern transport”
PKP Intercity presents a new service. Only passengers traveling by train to Warsaw will benefit from it.
Warsaw Public Transport tickets will now be available even faster thanks to the new PKP Intercity service. The carrier responds to the great interest in trips to the capital and offers the possibility of purchasing a ZTM ticket together with a train ticket directly on the website and in the application. This is a great convenience for passengers who want to quickly reach a given address by public transport, instead of spending money on expensive taxis.
PKP Intercity changes regarding journeys around Warsaw
Are you planning a trip to Warsaw soon? If so, be sure to check the latest functionality on the PKP Intercity website, which allows you to purchase two tickets at the same time. It is about the possibility of booking both an intercity ticket and public transport (ZTM) tickets at the same time. The price of this solution is an additional fee of PLN 4.40 (without discounts), i.e. the equivalent of a cardboard ticket in a machine. “To purchase this ticket, the passenger will be able to indicate his willingness to receive it when purchasing the train ticket. After making the payment, he will also receive a ticket entitling him to use public transport in Warsaw, which will be valid in the first ZTM ticket zone for 75 minutes,” the PKP Intercity press office reported.
Purchase a ZTM ticket in one go
Warsaw and PKP Intercity positively evaluate the changes introduced. The capital of Poland is so far the only city with the function of purchasing public transport tickets in Intercity. “Integration of the PKP Intercity offer with Warsaw Public Transport is a step towards modern transport that meets the needs of travelers. We are convinced that thanks to this cooperation, traveling around Warsaw will be even easier and more comfortable,” says Janusz Malinowski, President of PKP Intercity, quoted by pozna-kolejowy.pl. However, travelers wonder whether city tickets purchased in this way will remain valid if the train arrives at the Warsaw station with a delay. Unfortunately, at the moment it is not known how the company will solve these types of problems.
The facility introduced by PKP Intercity is another good news for passengers after the recent improvement of the international ticket purchasing system.
