New salt like Kuwait? Here are the deposits that can change the region

New salt can undergo an economic revolution. All thanks to the discovery of rich copper and silver deposits, which are located near the city and in nearby towns – Cierzyce and Mozowo. According to “Fakt”, the investor interested in the exploitation of these resources is the Canadian company Lumina Metals.

Extraction of raw materials

New salt, previously associated mainly with the automotive industry, can gain a new meaning as a future center of raw materials extraction. The general director of Lumina Metals, Jordan Pandoff, emphasized in an interview with the Polish press agency that the discovered deposits are one of the largest discoveries of this type in Europe since the 1950s. The company has already completed search work and is entering the preparation phase for obtaining the necessary permits.

– This is a breakthrough moment. We begin the process of formal conclusions, environmental analyzes and spatial development planning. We assume that it will last about 4-5 years, but if it is possible, we will accelerate this process – announced Pandoff.

Lumina Metals also plans to enter the stock exchange, which can attract additional capital. As Pandoff assures, investors from around the world may be interested in cooperation with a company operating in a stable state, which is Poland. He pointed out that since capital goes to countries such as Congo or Ecuador, Poland can count on financial support.

Lower taxes

An additional advantage for potential investors may be changes announced by the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański. We are talking about a planned reduction in copper mining tax, which is to take place in 2026 at the latest. Tax facilitation can increase the attractiveness of the region and accelerate the development of the project.

The investment can be of great importance for the local community. Experts predict that up to 70,000 people can find work in sectors related to extraction. This is almost twice as much as the current number of inhabitants of Nowa Sól. Paweł Kleszcz from ATC Development emphasizes that similar investments also affected the increase in real estate and the development of local business.
