Shannon is a town in southwest Ireland in County Clare. It is located on the river of the same name. It is a base for visiting one of the most famous Irish attractions, the Cliffs of Moher – a rocky section of the Atlantic coast. In places, the cliff reaches a height of up to 214 meters.
Another famous place in County Clare is the Burren plateau, made of limestone rocks. It covers an area of 260 square kilometers, and its western and northern borders are the Atlantic Ocean and Galway Bay.
