New railway timetable

The moment Polish travelers have been waiting for all year has come. PKP Intercity has published details of the new, year-round timetable for the 2024/2025 season, which will enter into force on December 15. First, the number of connections themselves will change. Instead of 454, we will have 505. There will also be new directions and higher frequency on popular routes. “The timetable will include additional trains from Przemyśl, Poznań, Lublin and Białystok. For fans of trips abroad, new connections have been prepared to the Czech Republic from Tricity, Poznań, Wrocław (IC Baltic Express) and to Berlin from Przemyśl, Kraków, Katowice, Wrocław (IC Galicja),” the latest announcement said.

Shorter journey times and new stations

The inhabitants of Wrocław can celebrate as they will reach the capital on board EIC Ślęża in record time of 3 hours and 33 minutes. “Travellers will get faster from the capital to Szczecin (4 hours and 18 minutes), Białystok (1 hour and 30 minutes) or Łódź Fabryczna (1 hour 7 minutes),” we read. PKP trains on the way from Warsaw to Wisła will stop at the Zator Park Rozrywki station, from where you can walk to the popular Energylandia amusement park. For the first time, PKP Intercity trains will also stop at Bystrzyca Kłodzka and Międzylesie stations.

The timetable itself will be much more transparent than before, because trains will run at almost equal time intervals. “Every hour between Wrocław and Kraków, at least every two hours from Poznań to Kraków and every two hours between Gdynia and Wrocław. An attractive network of connections will be maintained on the most popular communication routes. Trains from the capital will go to Krakow and Tricity every hour on average,” reports the PKP press office.
