New option in mObywatel. It’s about children’s safety
The mObywatel application has gained a new function that helps in the fight against illegal content on the Internet.
Thanks to the “Illegal content” option, users can report materials that violate the law directly to the Dyżurnet.pl team at NASK. This tool helps protect users against cyber threats by allowing them to quickly respond to harmful content on the web.
New option in mObywatel – details
The mObywatel application now includes functionality supporting cybersecurity. The new “Illegal Content” option allows users to report potentially illegal material online, such as child sexual exploitation content. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitization, Krzysztof Gawkowski, emphasizes that this solution serves to strengthen the protection of both children and adults against the most dangerous threats online. Thanks to this, everyone can actively contribute to creating a safe online space.
How to report?
The option to report online incidents in the mObywatel application is available to users of the latest version of the application (from version 4.45). To use it, you must have a confirmed identity, for example an added identity document, such as mID. The reporting process is intuitive and transparent. The user selects one by one:
- Safe online from the list of available services,
-
On the main screen of the service, it clicks Report an incident,
-
Selects an option Illegal content,
-
Read the information by clicking Next,
-
Follows the instructions and ends the report with a button Send.
Thanks to such simple steps, every user can quickly and effectively transmit information about hazardous materials to specialists.
The applications will be analyzed by experts
Reports from the mObywatel application are processed by the Dyżurnet.pl team, which operates within NASK (Scientific and Academic Computer Network). Experts analyze every reported content and take action depending on the situation. If the illegality of the material is confirmed, Dyżurnet.pl forwards the information to the appropriate services in Poland or, if necessary, also abroad. Head of the Department for Response to Illegal Content on the Internet, Martyna Różycka, emphasizes that the speed of response is crucial in the case of illegal content.
You can report anonymously
The new content reporting feature allows users to report incidents anonymously or by including their email address. If the applicant chooses to provide his or her email address, he or she will receive notifications about the status of the application. This is an option for those who want to be kept informed about the actions taken.
Update mObywatela
To use the function of reporting illegal content, it is worth updating the mObywatel application to the latest version. This feature is being rolled out gradually, so some users may need a little longer to access it. The latest version of the application (4.45 and above) is available for both Android and iOS, supporting the fight against online threats for users throughout Poland.
The new option to report illegal content in mObywatel is another step towards a safer internet space that can be used by everyone.
