Last week, InPost launched a pilot of deferred payments. The service is available in InPost Pay, which is used by over 5 million registered users. It allows you to defer payment for 30 days. For now, the service operates in three online stores: Ochnik, Ryłko and Militaria.pl. However, it is to be extended to other merchants. The service was created in cooperation with Aion Bank.
Deferred payments in InPost
Deferred payments, in which customers pay for goods within 30 days after purchase (and then it is free of charge – after this deadline, interest is added), are becoming more and more popular in our country. You can find them in online stores, service points (including medical ones), and travel agencies.
– Deferred payment is another important step in the development of InPost Pay. Thanks to the financial flexibility we offer to our customers, shopping will be even faster and simpler, and all information is available in the InPost Mobile application, in the Finance section. InPost Pay is the first solution in Poland that combines payments for purchases and deliveries in one place – which is why I am extremely happy that over 5 million users already appreciate our revolutionary service on the e-commerce market. Our priority is to build a coherent InPost ecosystem that streamlines everyday online transactions and delivery – emphasizes Szymon Wałach, vice-president of the management board for digital and strategy of InPost.
Customers who have started using the service have doubts about only one thing. According to the cashless website, one of the readers was asked only for his PESEL number when submitting an application for a deferred payment. He was not required to have an ID card number and was not checked at the Credit Information Bureau. The client received a positive decision, even though he used the application registered in his spouse’s name. On the one hand, this shows that the service is simple and fast, but it should be remembered that companies offering any credit-based services must check the client’s financial condition and be sure that he does not have so many financial obligations that incurring another one would violate their financial security. . The Polish Financial Supervision Authority announced clarifications on this matter.
