New announcement on fuel prices. Drivers will pay more

The Ministry of Energy issued a statement regarding the new maximum retail fuel prices applicable in Poland on Tuesday.

“95 petrol – PLN 5.98/l, 98 petrol – PLN 6.69/l, diesel oil – PLN 6.11/l. The Minister of Energy announced new maximum retail prices of fuels effective on June 23, 2026.” – informs the ministry.

Fuel price analysis

Tuesday fuel prices go up. The biggest change was recorded in Pb98 petrol, which increased in price by 8 groszy per liter. The price of Pb95 gasoline also went up. The only fuel that has become cheaper compared to Monday is diesel oil – its price dropped symbolically by 1 grosz per liter.

• unleaded petrol Pb98: +8 gr (from PLN 6.61/l to PLN 6.69/l)

• diesel oil: -1 gr (from PLN 6.12/l to PLN 6.11/l)

Fuel prices – Monday, June 22, 2026:

• unleaded petrol Pb95: PLN 5.94 per liter,

• unleaded petrol Pb98: PLN 6.61 per liter,

• diesel oil: PLN 6.12 per liter.

When does the new price apply?

As the ministry explains, new prices are valid from the day following their publication in the Official Journal “Monitor Polski”.

– In the case of non-working days, the price announced on the last working day before the weekend, holidays and other non-working days applies. It is applied until the next business day, including this day, explains the ministry.

Fuel Prices Lower program extended

Let us remind you that from June 16 this year. changes in the government package of Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) in force since the end of March. Pursuant to them, reduced excise duty rates on selected motor fuels no longer apply. The lower VAT on fuels, as well as the price limit at gas stations, have been extended until June 30.

The regulations oblige fuel sellers to charge prices no higher than the announced limits. Exceeding the maximum price will result in a penalty of up to PLN 1 million. Inspections in this area are carried out by the National Tax Administration (KAS). The maximum price is set according to a specific formula. It takes into account the average wholesale price of fuels on the domestic market, to which are added, among others, excise duty, fuel fee, sales margin of PLN 0.30 per liter and VAT.
