On Thursday, April 2, 2026, President Karol Nawrocki announced via social media the signing of 7 acts, including one of key importance for the Polish labor market. This concerns an amendment to the Act on the National Labor Inspectorate, which gives new, much broader powers to this institution.
“I still have serious doubts about some regulations – especially those that grant very broad powers to the National Labor Inspectorate towards entrepreneurs. The state must be strong – but it cannot be excessive in its interference,” declared the President.
The PIP reform will enter into force. Nawrocki on amending the act
Nawrocki emphasized that the Act on the National Labor Inspectorate touches the very foundation of the relationship between the state, the employee and the employer. – However, from the very beginning of the procedure, I had serious doubts. They concerned primarily the lack of proper social dialogue at the stage of government work. The state cannot ignore social partners – this is the foundation of a healthy democracy, the President noted.
