Nawrocki forgot about the reduction of electricity prices? There is a spokesperson’s reaction
At the moment, work on the draft law reducing electricity prices by 33 percent is underway in the Chancellery of the President. – spokesman of President Rafał Leśkiewicz informed on Polish Radio24.
On Thursday, President Karol Nawrocki announced the veto of the so -called windmill act. The regulation includes a provision regarding the extension of freezing electricity prices until the end of the year. The president emphasized that he supports this solution and submit a bill in this matter. – We have not changed in the Chancellery of the President or a comma in the proposal to freeze electricity prices Nawrocki said.
A few hours later, the head of the Chancellery of President Zbigniew Bogucki announced that the project was already sent to the Sejm. The president hopes that the lower parliamentary chamber will be able to deal with the project during the next meeting, which is scheduled for September 9. On September 24, the Senate will gather. Nawrocki declared that he would be ready to sign the act on freezing electricity prices on this day (it would be possible if the senators do not report amendments).
What about the reduction of electricity prices by 33 percent? The president’s spokesman comments
President spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz today stated on Polish Radio24 that now “the ball is on the side of the government and parliament.” – If the government wants to maintain the freezing of energy prices, this is the moment. The Sejm can accept it in September, and the Senate is approved. The president announced that he would sign such a law. We are not talking about a new legal solution, but about the provisions already intercepted by the Polish Parliament. So now it will basically be a technical activity – said Leśkiewicz.
The president’s spokesman also referred to the allegation that Karol Nawrocki, through the veto, abandoned his election promise, because in the campaign he promised to reduce electricity prices by 33 percent. Leśkiewicz reported that the Chancellery of the President is working on this solution.
– At the moment, work on the President’s Office is underway on a draft law reducing the price of electricity by 33 percent, we have his calculations, estimates, within a few weeks the president will present whether the President’s office will present a draft law of a law reducing the prices of electricity – said Leśkiewicz.
