Musk wants to buy the football giant. The billionaire’s father confirms
Elon Musk plans to invest in Liverpool FC. His father reveals details about the family’s ties with the Reds. Will the billionaire take over the club?
Elon Musk, one of the most recognizable entrepreneurs in the world, has expressed interest in purchasing Liverpool FC. This information was revealed by his father, Errol Musk, in an interview with Times Radio. The 53-year-old founder of brands such as Tesla, PayPal and SpaceX, as well as the owner of the X website, again aroused media interest in his plans. This time it is about a possible investment in a football club.
The billionaire’s father confirms
During an interview with Times Radio’s Kait Borsay, Errol Musk was asked about his son’s plans to buy Liverpool.
– Does your son want to buy Liverpool? – the question was asked.
– I can’t comment on it because they will raise the price. The fact that he has expressed his willingness to buy does not mean that the transaction will take place. But yes, he would like to buy Liverpool, everyone would, me too. His grandmother was born in Liverpool, we have relatives there, and we were lucky to meet members of The Beatles because they grew up with part of our family. So yes, we are connected with Liverpool, replied Errol Musk.
Liverpool under Musk’s microscope
Currently, the owner of the club is the American Fenway Sports Group, which has managed Liverpool FC since 2010. Under her leadership, the Reds achieved numerous successes, including winning the Champions League and Premier League.
During the current season, the team led by Arne Slot is achieving impressive results, leading the Premier League table and achieving success in the league phase of the Champions League.
The future of key players is uncertain
Despite the sporting successes, the club’s authorities face the challenge of maintaining the core of the team. The contracts of key players such as Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold expire on June 30, 2025. For now, it is not known whether it will be possible to extend their contracts.
Elon Musk’s takeover of the club could not only impact Liverpool’s finances, but also change the club’s future on the international stage.
